After a so , so start and hum drum play as of late , thank God for a two game home and home sweep of top running Edmonton Super Sonics . The two game sweep starts off with a three goal first period and a convincing 4-2 win , outshooting the Sonics 44-27. Leading the way for the Huskies were James Neal (1 star), Alex Burrows(3rd star) and Jordan Staal (2nd star) , all from Whitehorses first line. Three nights later it was a home game and Tuuka Rusk leading the way with a stand on your head , 32save performance. Alex Burrows scored the winner at 8:15 of the third and was named first star. A crowd of 18,487 came out to see the first place Sonics from Edmonton. The Huskies have been helped by the return of Matthew Lombardi from injury. Lombardi who scored 33 goals and 92 points last year was missed by the Huskies. Huskies next game is against the Vancouver Island Norsemen , the team that has beat them twice this year already. Curtis McElhinney will get the call , the third time against the Norsemen. He has not faired well , with two loss's and a 5.00 goals against average in two games. The Whitehorse Huskies say , unless you are the lead dog , the view never changes!
