"Honestly, I'm trying hard not to think about it," said Phil Kessel, "I mean awards and honors are nice and all, but when I start to over-think things I tend to get myself in trouble. I'm just trying to shoot the puck. Right now they're going in." And going in they are. With eight goals in his first eight games of the season, Spartans winger Kessel is leading the way for a team that has struggled to fing their skating legs yet. At just 4-3-1, the Spartans haven't exactly lit the SICHL on fire, but going 3-0 this week they have started to get back on track. Kessel did his part to fire up the offense, tallying six goals and an assist in those three games, with four of those goals coming at the expense of the Amsterdan Admirals in a 7-2 rout. Kessel has eight goals and three assists in eight games, Kessel now has 50 career SICHL goals and 114 career points. "I'm playing with some great playmakers right now," said Kessel, "Hopefully I can keep it simple and things will keep going well."
