The Whitehorse Huskies have surprised the SICHL by going on their best winning streak of the season. A modest streak by the league's powerhouse teams' standards, but a four win, two loss, two tie streak for this team is a big deal. After all the trades to help the future , the Huskies were left with a collection of young players and role players. In the latest big win against a top team like Edmonton, in their home barn , with a huge crowd , was a big moral boost for this young Huskies club. The four to three win against the Supersonics in overtime, with Jordan Staal scoring the winner, sent the crowd wild. Leading the way for the Huskies was first star Martin St.Louis, the team's captain. St.Louis set up the winner to Staal and scored two goals himself, with a plus two on the day. Second star was young eighteen year old Jordan Staal. Staal also chipped in an assist and was plus three on the day. Third star was Tim Thomas, who out duelled superstar goalie Dominic Hasek. Hasek allowed four goals on twenty-one shots for a save percentage of 0.810. Thomas let in three goals on thirty-five shots for a 0.914 save percentage. The huge crowd when all counted was 24,728. The old Ice Barn was shaking, giving the players a nice boost. Reporting from Whitehorse , home of the seventh place Huskies: Team Reporter Trudy Talyor
