The game ended in a 2-0 victory for the Nova Scotia Schooners. Whitehorse Huskies Jordan Staal was awarded a pure silver stick for playing 1,005 regular season games with the Whitehorse Huskies. Jordan was drafted by the Huskies third overall in the 2006 entry draft. He started playing with the Huskies the following 2007 -2008 season, with 705 pts,453 assists , 182 plus minus , Jordan leaves his name on the Huskies record books.

However Jordan stepped down as Captain earlier and has suffered through an injury plague season. Jordan was granted his wish to go to a contender down south to be closer to family. With the looming contract situation Huskies GM D.R. Morrison sent Jordan Staal to the championship Nova Scotia Schooners to give him a shot at an SICHL championship..

"Jordan's been a great Captain a great leader and a great role model in the Yukon for so many years , honoring his wishes seem like the decent thing to do." said DR Morrison.

" We'll give some of the kids a chance to play and open up some space on the roster for maybe a few of the Huskies to come up and try their hand. "said HC Jerome Iginla.

Coming back to the Huskies in the trade with the Nova Scotia Schooners is Reese Johnson a hard-working, multi-position forward and a fifth and a sixth round pick in this year's draft.

"We are going to make the playoffs and we are going to give some of these younger players a chance to get some playoff experience and I know they're going to do very well."

said a confident D.R. Morrison.
