The Whitehorse Huskies win streak went up in smoke , with a lack lustre effort in Amsterdam. Jordan Staal scored both goals in regulation time and was named first star. The Huskies however were unable to turn the lead into a victory , instead losing in a shoot out.The 3-2 shoot out loss to Amsterdam came on the heals of a huge 5-4 win over Vancouver Island Norsemen. The Huskies won 18 games in a row , before coming up with a loss in Amsterdam. Coach Daryl Sutter in his post game interview was asked if the travel from the Yukon to Amsterdam was a factor , or big game with the Vancouver Island Norsemen? " We played a lacklustre game , no jump and focus. The reason could be a few mentioned , we did give the players a day in Amsterdam to relax. We arrived early to give the players a chance to see the sites? I guess the sites took its toll on them? Maybe Amsterdam is the home ice advantage? "

Huskies next game is with the league run Miami Makos , the worst team ever in the history of the S.I.C.H.L.. Well it is a tough situation in Miami , the league is looking to stabilize the team and find a new owner or move the franchise next year.

Huskie Pups:

Marcus Johansson is been on a streak that was derailed in Amsterdam last night. Johansson who is in his ROOKIE season has scored 5 goals , 17 assists for 22 points , in only 14 games. Marcus assisted seven times in one game already and is plus 17 for the year.

Jordan Caron has reached the 100 goal mark for the Penticton Claimjumpers , in only 39 games. Caron has a total of 190 points , but is second on the team in scoring to Drayson Bowman with 194.

Update: Tyler Myers is out for what is being said to be three months with back spasms. This comes a few games before the biggest game of the year so far. " Losing your best defenseman so far this season for what looks like the rest of the year will make this a tough test. It is however a good way to see were we are at with our young dmen. Sink or swim time for the kids." Said coach Daryl Sutter. " We will give the kids a chance to show their stuff. The phone line is open and we will be on the lookout for a D man , if the right fit could be found. I like Keaton's game this year , he makes teams keep their heads up. So into the frying pan first game vs the Express. To bad for Tyer Myers , he was having a career year and was playing a great all around game." Said GM , owner D.R. Morrison.
