Only hours after today's annual SICHL Waiver Draft, Toronto Titans GM Derrick Roslaniec addressed the media about losing four players to competitive clubs.  The four departures were goalie Jason LaBarbera, and defensemen Aaron Johnson, Mike Mottau, and Jay Harrison.

"Losing four players in today's Waiver Draft is a bit of a hit to our club, but we feel those players will get a better opportunity with their new respective clubs" commented Derrick.  "LaBarbera wasn't in our future plans, and we were looking to trade him anyways.  Aaron Johnson spent two quality seasons as a Titan, but with our recent acquisitions on defense he would have played the final year of his contract in the minors.

"Jay Harrison wasn't a guy we were planning on keeping around either, but recently signed Mike Mottau was."

Mottau was signed in the offseason as a Free Agent, and team management was looking forward to the leadership and production he would provide as a seventh defenseman.

"We still have a great group of players on this team, and we really added a lot of parts over the offseason, and we plan to contend for a title this year and next."

When asked to comment more on the offseason moves, GM Roslaniec stated that an official press release would be released to the media soon.
