Major announcement out of Seattleby Phil Lesage | August 15, 2018, 1:56 AM ET
Less than a week after introducing the Seattle Grunge, team owner and GM Phil Lesage has started to fill positions at all levels, from management, scouting and coaching.
First off, contrary to the news that was leaked by SICHL Insider, Dave Grohl as been hired but not as team President of Hockey Operations but as President of in game production.
"I am so stoked to announce that Dave has accepted this position," said Lesage. "Each and every hockey game will be treated as a unique production that lasts 5 to 6 hours. I want all the fans to feel the energy, as soon as they arrive at the arena, which could be as early as 1.5 hours hours before puck drop. The game itself will take roughly take 2.5 to 3 hours to play out and there will also be some post game entertainment for those that wish to stay a little later. Dave, with his pedigree in the entertainment business will make each and every evening at the rink an experience fans will talk about until the next game; this I am sure."
Roy Mlakar, was introduced as VP of Hockey Operations and sales.
"Roy brings with him a wealth of pro hockey management experience," continued Lesage. "He is the right man to lead the hockey operations, and I look forward to working with him."
Eric Lindros was named assistant GM.
"Eric has been around the league for a number of years and in that time he has made excellent contacts - I being new to the league will be relying heavily on Eric. One of Eric's main responsibilities will be to manage the team in Kirkland."

Lastly, Bob Mckenzie has been lured out of the press box and will lead the teams scouting department. Working with Bob will be Jari Kurri (European scout), Pierre Dorion (pro scout) and Brett Lindros (CHL)
"Bob has been reporting hockey for a number of years and he just knows hockey. He is the man I wanted to lead my scouting staff. "
