The last piece? Colonials Acquire Zach Parise.

by Gary Graves | March 7, 2018, 1:39 PM ET

The Colonials add what is believed to be the final piece of the puzzle this morning after an offer, counter offer followed by one more counter offer ended up in a handshake deal re-acquiring forward Zach Parise.

Parise played 63 games with the Colonials during the 14/15 season where he amassed 53 points.

The deal shakes out as follows:

To Boston:

Parise and STL 3rd 2018

To St. Louis:

Vande Sompel (P), WHI 2nd 2018 and ACA 4th 2019

Mitchell Vande Sompel is a high end puck moving offensive defenseman (a converted forward). Vande Sompel was a perennial 'point per game' defenseman in the OHL. He is a bit undersized and needs some work defensively but has hockey IQ, is a smooth skater and handles the puck well. He will definitely make his pro debut in the GHA next year.

With the acquisition of Parise, Boston can roll three very solid lines. They project as follows:

Couture – Kesler – Pastrnak

Silfverberg – MacKinnon - Parise

Perron – Koivu – Bailey

Gourde – Moore – Beagle

“With the division as tight as it is and a slim lead remains, we are all in. We want to wish Mitchell the best and believe he has a bright future in St. Louis” said a pretty happy GM Graves when asked about the trade.
