Barons GM Bob Mayhugh traded away furture draft picks to gain 2 young forwards with some scoring potential. Josh Anderson (23) was aquired from St. Louis for the Barons' 2018 2nd round draft pick aquired from Dublin and a 2018 3rd round pick aquired from Philadelphia. Anderson was up for 7 games with the Spartans last season scoring no points with 5 penalty minutes. He showed his scring potential at St. Charles of the GHA putting up 61 points in 77 games. On Saturday, October 14, GM Mayhugh pulled the trigger with Acadia to aquire winger Ryan Dzingel (25). Brno gave up the second of their 3 second round picks in 2018 for Dzingel who was up with Acadia for 8 games last season scoring no points. Dzingel was the reach of the two aquisitions as he has yet to meet his potential. Mayhugh is hopin that a change in scenery will spark his scoring touch. Mayhugh has said that the Barons could stll be in the market for a young defenseman to round out this years lineup.
