Admirals up 2-0 in quarter final match up against the Krunchby Wendal Spark | May 16, 2013, 12:14 PM ET
Game one saw Stamkos light the lamp on 6 separate occasions, 5 of which coming in the 3rd period. Demolishing the Krunch 10-2. Howard made 48 saves out of 50 shots; while his skaters in front of him had a clinic with Giguere and Sanford.
Game two was quite a hockey game; back and forth action; game tying goal with 20 seconds left in regulation; and an OT goal by 4th line grinder. Unfortunately, due to a questionable hit by Krunch's Jason Spezza; Patrick Sharp left the game near the end of the 3rd period. Although Sharp feels the play should be reviewed by league officials, he's hoping his team rallies behind him, so he can return to action in the second round. Patrick Sharp was the regular season hero tallying 140 points, setting a career and team high record, which should not be easy to break.
Game 3 and 4 will be played in Kansas City, where the Admirals are currently en route. Should the Admirals lose either one of those games, both teams will return to Amsterdam for game 5.
Will the team struggle without Sharp? Will Stamkos keep up pace without his buddy riding shotgun? Can Howard stay rested enough? Should Spezza be worried after his play in game 2? Are the Krunch still recouperating from their time in Amsterdam? Only time will tell. Stay tuned folks, this series is just getting interesting.
