Admirals Ready for the Krunch

by Wendal Spark | May 8, 2013, 11:18 PM ET

Admirals go 8-1-1 down the last stretch and prepare for the Kansas City Krunch.

Happy to be healthy heading into the playoffs, Admirals veterans are preparing for their (for some last) push.

Re-acquired Captain Chris Pronger has 3 goals and 16 assists in the 15 games he's played since returning to Amsterdam.

"I was really happy when I received the phone call saying I was coming back, I was shocked, but extremely happy. My play in Las Vegas was subpar, and I needed to get out of there", says Pronger. "The Admirals originally signed me to bring them closer to the cup, and I intend on doing just that." Rumors circulate about Pronger possibly retiring, and he has yet to comment.

2012-2013 Notes:

Patrick Sharp set a team record recording 140 points this season (good enough for 5th best in the league) leading the team in both goals and assists (70 each). With question of his Franchise eligibility, Patrick Sharp had been rumored to be on the block in the beginning of the season. Fans and management hope to see him in an Admirals jersey next season. Sharp now leads the Admirals franchise record with 143 goals, trailed by only Steve Stamkos with 141. He has also reach it to 5th most career games played as an Admiral with 313 games played.

Steve Stamkos, 2nd on the team with 125 points, puts him in the lead for a handful of Franchise records.  Stamkos has recorded 321 career points (1st), 141 career goals (2nd), 180 career assists (1st), +77 career ranking (3rd), 28 Power play goals (3 way tie for 1st), 24 career gamewinning goals (1st).

Goaltender Jimmy Howard set records as well, recording 40 wins this season, along with 8 assists as a goalie. That is a Admiral season record for both statistics. He sets franchise records in these categories with 104 career wins, 5 career shut outs,  5307 shots faced, 9939 minutes played, and 15 career assists. Howard could break franchise games played as early as next season as well, as he only needs 47 more starts to acheive this milestone.
