We are hearing that a trade storm just came inby Wendal Spark | April 1, 2013, 11:51 AM ET
News broke after the Admirals dismantled the Havanna Revolucion tonight. GMKL decided that if the Admirals were to compete in the playoffs this season, some serious reinforcements would be needed to stand up against certain powerhouses in the league. Addressing a leadership issue and bringing in some veteran depth was the goal.
Leaving Amsterdam: Sergei Bobrovsky, rumored to have asked for this trade due to a quite embarassing showing this season, has been dealt along side, #3 defenseman Alex Goligoski and top 6 forward Dave Perron, in a strange series of events, return back to Las Vegas (for the same man they were traded for), veteran defenseman Joe Corvo, and a 3rd round pick in the upcoming draft all will be reporting to Las Vegas.
GMKL says, "Alex and Dave have been great troopers, and it was hard letting them go. But know they will return to familiar management and fans and will succeed there. Joe will be missed, as an Alternate Captain and staple oif our blue line for the past 3 years, he just didn't fit into our future plans. Sergei got involved with a little bit too much of the lifestyle here, but we think the move will help him shape up, and he'll come back strong and be the goalie we used to know."
Coming to Amsterdam, former Captain Chris Pronger returns. It is rumored Kimmo Timmonen will relinquish the Captaincy to Pronger in his rumored last SICHL season. Along with Pronger comes spectacular young blue-liner Brent Seabrook, offensively gifted veteran Danny Briere, young faces Tom Pyatt, Jhonen Enroth, Lars Eller, and a 6th round draft pick. Eller is very excited to return closer to home; while Briere and Pronger hope to add the proper elements for this Admirals team to suceed. Enroth will provide competition for Anton Khudobin, and Tom Pyatt will provide depth.
Once the paperwork is finalized, all players should be joining their newly respective teams this Monday or Tuesday.
